Fields: Metadata Fields

Path: Assets > Configure Asset Management > Metadata Fields

Metadata Fields lets you create a new metadata field that is mapped to a search field. Any data entered for an asset using the metadata field is indexed as search field data, and therefore can be search as that field. It is also displayed as the search field in the search result and item detail displays.

In order for a metadata field to be searchable, you must make sure that the search field is included in the SD_ASSET data source. Any data entered as metadata for an asset will not be available until you run the SD_ASSET_EXTRACTOR task in the System Tasks.

If you want the data entered for assets to appear in the search results or item detail displays, you must include the search fields in the appropriate displays. You can also use the fields as facets, if desired.
